Clever Boys aim to extend unbeaten run

Bidvest Wits will return to TUKS Stadium on Thursday for an Absa Premiership match against Bloemfontein Celtic. Kick-off is at 15h30 CAT.

Celtic extended their unbeaten run in the league to three matches, all since the restart, with a 2-2 draw away to AmaZulu on August 24. Phunya Sele Sele have claimed 22 points from 12 home matches so far this season.

Wits have gone seven league matches unbeaten after playing to a fourth draw in their last five outings with a 0-0 stalemate at Maritzburg United on August 24.

The Clever Boys have claimed 23 points from 13 matches on the road in the 2019/20 campaign.

Pre-match comments:

Lorenzo Gordinho “It has been a decent run for us. Since that defeat to Sundowns [in the Nedbank Cup] we haven’t lost a game in the bubble.”
“It is a decent record and we are working hard to start turning draws into wins. There aren’t many games left and we just want to finish the season on a good note.”

“I think it will be a tough game, Celtic have been playing some good football. Their confidence is high. They’ve reached the final of the Nedbank Cup, so I think it is going to be a good game, it will be a fight and it is a game I’m looking forward to.”
