As we continue to wait for the green light from the Premier Soccer League (PSL) for the 2019/20 season to resume, the Bidvest Wits technical team and players are hard at work with an obvious desire to finish the campaign on the field of play.
The Clever Boys still have a Nedbank Cup semifinal against Mamelodi Sundowns to look forward to, as well as nine Absa Premiership fixtures.
Bidvest Wits winger Kgaogelo Sekgota was in good form before the countrywide lockdown enforced by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic halted play in mid-March.
The 23-year-old is happy to finally be back in training this month and is now looking forward to finishing the season on a high.
“It is good to be back after a long time, football is something that we love and live for so this is a great feeling,” Sekgota said following a training session at Sturrock Park.
“It is all about the dedication that you have, your goals in life. You have to stay strong. Challenges come and go, you just need to be mentally strong and remain focussed. We are in the Nedbank Cup semifinals and we still have a few league games left so there is still a lot to play for.
“Obviously we are a big team with a good coach that has a lot of experience. We have a squad full of national team players so we will remain competitive and professional up until the end of the season,” he concluded.
